Been a while, but it was poker night last night!
Funny thing. The one night we get off from the haunted house, we go back up there to play poker. It was actually a great place to play. We all could chain smoke, and due to the size of the place, it didn’t stink. We took the TV out of one of the attractions, and James brought up rabbit ears so we could watch Monday Night Football. Good times.
As far as the poker game went, the lineup was as follows:
James
Peter
Tony
Clay
Billy
Kenny
Myself
Billy was out first. I would say it was a bad call. Peter was the early chip leader. Actually, Peter started way down, but then made a hell of a move, and within 20 minutes was way up in chips. After Billy went out, Clay and Kenny were next.
Four left were Tony, Peter, James and myself. We all called the blinds, and the flop was 8, 7, 3 off suit. A rag. I bet $1000.00, Peter called and Tony went all in. James called his all in, actually lowering the bet to $2700.00. I called, Peter called. Tony shows pocket Jacks. James has a straight draw. Peter’s got a rag, and I have pocket Kings. Turn and river were rags, and I took it down. James was out, and Tony was just about done. Peter was still up in chips, although I was making a big move. Tony was out shortly after, and it’s heads up time.
Back and forth, back and forth. I was dumping shit hands, and bullying decent ones. I ended up the chip leader after a minimal amount of time. Then I got it. Pocket Aces. I could slow play them, and string Peter along, or I could play like I want the game to end. Peter plays hold em’ all the time. But his competition isn’t that great. So I decide to play it like I want to go home. Quick glance at my cards, and I go all in pre-flop. Peter takes a minute, says screw it let’s go, and calls me. He flips over 5,6. What was he thinking? I flip over my pocket aces and he’s pissed. I think that he thought I was trying to buy the blinds. Anyway, flop gives him a pair of 6’s, and the turn and river are rags. I win.
4th win for me in the MPT. I jumped my total money wins up another $140.00. I have a pretty good lead over second, in wins and in money. With talk of the championship game coming up, getting this win felt pretty good. Plus the fact that I actually was into this game yesterday and not just playing to do something, made me feel like I still have the touch. ![]()
Off again tonight
My Dad called me and asked me if I wanted his Piston tickets for tonights game.(he has season tickets, and they’re GREAT seats) I called Billy because I thought we were working at the haunted house tonight. (fixing things) Billy said no, and that he would fix everything tomorrow during the day. We’ll see if that actually happens. Billy wanted to go to the game tonight, but I told him and my Dad that I’m going to spend tonight with my wife. The most time I’ve spent with her since we got married, is at the damn haunted house. So tonight, it’s chillin’ at home.
Lunch is on Rayl, thanks Pen!
Rayl bought lunch today. It was Pen, the warehouse manager’s 50 anniversary. He’s been working here almost twice as long as I’ve been alive! Congrats Pen! It was Ridley?s Deli. Not very good, but free none the less. What this does is negate the ?dutch? day in our lunch club. We have a lunch club here at work. 4 of us, and we take turns buying. I bought on Monday. Rayl buys today, meaning I get a free lunch for the rest of the week. So it worked out nicely.
