One man’s trash…

May 10th, 2004 | Category: Fun

Kelly and I, about twice a year, do this major cleaning of our garage. The day that we get rid of whatever we were storing, and have decide that we no longer want. Or shit that we just finally decided to throw out, after it just ate up space.

We’ve been telling people that the day we do this at our house, is a pretty funny day, and that we’re going to have people over to watch it. Every time we have cleaned out the garage, and thrown out a bunch of shit, we’ve ended up with people going through the trash. Now, I don’t mean that we get the one weirdo in the neighborhood with a wagon rummaging through the bags. I’m talking high traffic. We were stunned at the amount of people we had going through our trash.

It’s funny to see the system these people have. Last time we did this, we had 3 cars stop all at the same time. Two in the driveway (which pisses me off) and one on the street next to us. See, we live on a main road so we get more traffic than a side street, but there is nowhere for anyone to park while garbage picking. These three separate groups of people were actually dealing with each other to see who would get what. Remember, this is garbage we’re talking about here. We were cracking up.

It’s to the point now where we bet on how long before people stop, and what stuff gets taken first. Now, their not even waiting for us to get it all to the curb, their going through our shit while we’re still walking it down. Well, they don’t want to miss out on the good crap, now do they.

Anyway, yesterday was the first time we actually had some assholes stopping to go through our trash, that screwed up traffic. These guys didn’t even bother to pull off the main road. Just threw it in park, in the right lane, and got out to do their thing. But they weren’t like most people, most people grab whatever they see on top, throw it in their trunk and take off. Not these guys. They stood out there, going through our garbage, for 20 minutes! In the middle of the road! People were honking and screaming at them as they drove by. It was ridiculous. 2 cops drove by, and neither one of them stopped to tell this trash to get the fuck off the road. So, for their efforts to screw up traffic, just so they could take their time rummaging through someone else?s garbage, I congratulate the people whom I’ve affectionately named, the Caravan of Losers.
