Kel and I are sitting here flipping through the channels and we come across the original Scream movie. I forgot how good the beginning of this movie was. The first 10 minutes are totally intense. Plus, it culminates with Drew Barrymoore getting gutted, and that’s always a good thing.

“Just remember, your principle loves you.”

This really is a good movie. The second and third movies are entertaining in their own right, but this one is great. This movie also kind of kicked off the whole string of teenage slasher flicks like “I know what you did last summer” and “Urban Legend”. I also dig the fact that there are constant movie references in this flick. It reflects the fact that the generation represented watch a lot of TV and movies. Which, of course, we do. Or did back in 96 when this movie came out, and I was part of that generation.
