Taxes
We’re getting our taxes done tonight. Maybe we will get a big return, and then I will forget all about not getting a Christmas bonus. Doubt it though. Anyway, this isn’t the first year that we are filing jointly as a married couple, so we won’t get any additional tax breaks.
I told Kel that if we get screwed over because we made too much jointly, or because we’ve been married over a year, that we’re going to get divorced.
You know, for tax purposes. ![]()
Got my shuffle!
Well, i got a little sick of waiting for Apple to ship my Shuffle when I’m pretty sure they have a shitload of them sitting in a warehouse.
Microcenter.com has had the Shuffles listed as a 1-3 day ship time for the past couple of days. I figured, what the hell, so I called the one here in Madison Heights. The guy said they didn’t have any of the 512mb’s in stock, but htey had a bunch of the 1gig’ers. Great, I want a 1gig’er. Woohoo.
So off to Microcenter at lunch. I have my Shuffle charging right now, so I can use it tonight on the treadmill. I also called and cancelled my open order with Apple. The lady asked me why I cancelled, and I told her it was because they took way to long to ship. She didn’t need to know that I picked on up locally. That, plus I could have told her that I was cancelling because I like mustard. I just have a sneeking suspicion that english wasn’t her first language.

They’re keeping him in the hospital for a few days. They weened him off of the IV yesterday, and switched to a pill to keep his heart rate down. Hopefully that pill will do the trick, and he’ll be all set. So more waiting to see whats going to happen.
I was visiting him last night until visiting hours were over, and I’ll be going back again tonight.

Well, last night(I guess since it’s after 12, technically is was night before last, but whatever)
ANYWAY, my Dad went back into the hospital. he got up around 2am to go to the bathroom. When he came out, he told my stepmom that there was something wrong, and he felt like his heart was racing. She took his pulse and his heart rate was around 145. So they went to the emergency room and they ended up admitting him.
He is in CCU now. They don’t know when he will be able to go back home. He is on some meds to help keep his heart rate stabilized. They thought they might have to knock him out, and shock his heart to get the beat to regulate, but that wasn’t necessary last night. It’s still a possibility though, if the meds don’t do the trick. We’ll just have to wait and see.

I know that it’s Friday, and that the weekend is here, but I have to be honest with ya. I wish it was Tuesday. Today has been such a crappy day at work, that I wish it was an un-eventfull middle of the week day that no one cares about. Now, I know that even if today was Tuesday all these bad things would still have happened, but this is also a day leading into a weekend that I’m not looking forward to.
Again, I wish it was Tuesday.
Tuesday has no expectations. Tuesday isn’t great, nor is it terrible. It’s just Tuesday. That’s how I wish today was. Just today.
I came in today, casual day, with my jeans and sweatshirt on expecting to coast into the weekend like so many other people did this morning. Instead of the normal attitude or “giddiness” you expect on a Friday at work, first thing this morning I was met with a major problem. A problem that I have zero control over, but apparently am completely responsible for. I never see the issues before they are issues, so how the hell am I supposed to stop them?!?
Whatever. Even though I miss my poker hiatus, I must say that I kind of really want to play tonight. I can’t. I’m doing a job to help out my Pops while he’s laid up. But for some reason I really want to play tonight. Dammit

Okay, I admit it. I watch this show. But unlike everyone else that tells you this exact same thing, I actually do stop watching the show after the auditions are over. I really don’t watch it once all the contestants get to Hollywood. It’s just not entertaining. I really mean that.
I like Simon. He’s funny. He’s mean, but that’s why he’s funny. Some of these people that think they have talent, need to be told that they suck terribly. If only to save some of us that accidentally end up at a bar on kareoke night. I went to a casino, and they had kareoke on the main stage. What kind of casino puts kareoke on the main stage? I mean come on, that’s just piling on. Not only are we taking your money, but we’re subjecting you to horrible high school choir/glee club rejects that think they actually have some talent. Guess what people, it’s not that the talent scouts aren’t seeing you, you just suck. Besides, everyone knows that companies like William/Morris agency send out agents to dive bars during kareoke hour.
Anyway, if you haven’t watched the show, at least try to catch the first few episodes. There are some gems hidden in there, as far as comedy goes.
Oh yeah, I want to choke Ryan Seacrest with my bare hands. I have a hard time beleiving that anyone can suck as bad as that dude does.
ROUVALIS OUT!

“Little Johnny’s parents were at their wits end as to what to do about their son’s behavior. His mother had heard that a priest in town had been successful in disciplining children in the past, so she asked her husband if they should send Little Johnny to speak with the priest. The husband said, “We might as well… we need to do something before I really lose my temper!” The priest agreed to speak with Little Johnny. The priest sat him down and asked him sternly, “Where is God?” Little Johnny made no response, so the priest repeated the question in an even sterner tone, “Where is God?” Again, Little Johnny made no attempt to answer, so the priest raised his voice again and shook his finger in the boy’s face, “Where is God?” A frightened Little Johnny ran out of the room and directly home to his bedroom, where he slammed himself in the closet. Little Johnny’s mother followed him into the closet and asked, “What happened?” Little Johnny replied, “I’m in BIG trouble this time… God is missing and they think I did it!”
1 commentGood for the site, bad for the forum
The comments portion of the site, is back in action! You can now leave comments on the main page of every post. I like the forum, however, and I would love it if we used that to BS with eachother.
I don’t know why most of you hate the forum so much, it’s not that hard to use.
(sigh)
Ungrateful bastards.

It’s flippin freezing in my office today. Damn.
It’s freezing outside today too. I had to snow blow twice this weekend. Once on Saturday, and once yesterday to get all of the snow. I really put the Toro to the test. The snow was deeper than the snow blower is tall. I was listening to my iPod while snow blowing, and I realized that it doesn’t like it when it’s 3 degrees out. It actaully locked up just before I finished. Works okay now though, just waiting for the Shuffle to show up, then this won’t happen anymore. Hurry up Apple!
