Some of you regular readers do not know about my forum. There is a link on the right side of the page to the forum, and it has been there for a while.

Until the comment thing gets fixed, we can use the forum to discuss posts, or anything you want really. That’s what it’s there for.

Thanks to Peter, there is now a link at the bottom of each post that says “click here to discuss this post in my forum”. That link will take you there also. You have to sign up, but you won’t get spam or anything.

Just create a user account, with a screen name, and everytime you visit you will automatically be logged in.

Again, you can use the forum to discuss something I post about, or something that you just want to talk about. Anything goes.

In case anyone is experiencing any slow down in their internet connection today, I know why. According to a guy here at work, the internet is slow today, because of the snow. Oh yeah, you heard me right, the internet will go slow today because it’s snowing.

From what I understand, here’s how it went:

One guy: “Anyone know why this vendors website is so slow today?”
Smart guy: “Well, it’s snowing, and the snow slows down the internet.”

Also, if your experiencing slow email deliveries it’s because the e-mailman is having a hard time getting through to your inbox, due to the weather. Just be patient. If I was at home right now, this would be my next comic. Still might be.

Maybe it’s not such a great idea to let recovering heart patients watch their favorite teams games on TV. But it was cool. The Pistons won, and we had a nice visit. He was in some pain, just before I left, but they gave him some vic. They said he might get out at the end of the week now. His platelets were low, but they are going up. As soon as they hit a certain mark, they can start him on his blood thinners that he needs to be on for a few days before they release him. If all goes well, they will put him on the thinners tomorrow, and release him in a few days.

Yup. I ordered mine. The 1gb flavor. I can’t wait. To bad the damn thing won’t ship for 3-4 weeks. That blows. But it’s on it’s way!

With everyday he gets better and better. And he looks better and better.

Today he looked really good. He’s still in a lot of pain, but he’s off the morphine now, and on just Vicadin. So that’s good. They’re trying to get him up and moving around more, as that will help speed up the healing process. If all goes well, he should be able to go home the middle of next week.

So Comedy Central is showing last nights Daily Show. Dennis Quaid is the guest. He’s wearing a vote for Pedro shirt! I love it. For those of you that don’t know what that means, go out right now and get Napoleon Dynamite. Right now. I’m serious. What are you waiting for? Go, God dammit!

I know what you all were thinking when I posted Dennis Quaid. You were thinking what a stellar performance he put on in the movie Inner Space. This is his best flick…or is it? Go rent Wilder Nalpalm. Two reasons. One, it’s a cool flick. Two, I’m sick of being the only person on the planet to see that movie.

As far as I know, I’m also the only person in the world to see the flicks The Miracle Mile starring Anthony Edwards, and the first Blown Away starring Nicole Eggert and the two Cory’s. Miracle Mile is a 1988 thriller/love story envolving the end of the world, with a great ending. Blown Away is just Nicole Eggert naked for an hour and a half. Which is more than enough reason to go get that movie.

Macworld is going on right now. At Macworld this year, Apple debuted two really sweet new products. One is the Mac Mini. A $500.00 G4 Mac computer with a foot print small enough to be a secondary computer on your desk. This could be the first Mac I own. I’ve always wanted to try a Mac, and now apple has put one within reach based on the price point. If you could use a KVM switch between this and your PC, it would be perfect. One monitor, one keyboard and one mouse, for your Mac and your PC.

The second thing unveiled at Macworld seems like it was built just for me. It’s a little weird. It seems that Apple went right into my head and designed their new iPod based on what I would like. The new iPod Shuffle.

They have a $99.00 512mb and $149.00 1gig versions. It’s a solid-state MP3 player/USB drive. It’s smaller than a stick of gum, but if you read the disclaimer on Apples site, you shouldn’t eat it. It’s also done something that I never thought Apple would do. It’s cheaper than anything else with the same capacity, that’s available right now. That’s just plain odd.

This is perfect for someone who works out, or has some sort of active lifestyle. The idea is that most people with iPods always listen to them on shuffle, which is true in my case, I never turn shuffle off.

You take the iPod Shuffle and plug it into your computer, it automatically adds a bunch of random tracks for you to listen to on the go. You can also have it select random tracks from a playlist, or just have it add a playlist as you set it up. This is what I would use it for. I have a playlist called “workout” that is made up of up-beat music that help me get through my workout. The iPod Shuffle would be my workout player.

See, the regular iPod has a hard drive built in. That’s how it can store 5000 songs. The downside is that it has moving parts, meaning it’s not shock-proof. It has anti-skip, but if you run for more than 20 minutes, it can lock up. The new iPod Shuffle has no moving parts at all, so it will never skip. It’s also smaller and more compact than a regular iPod. Easier to carry with you while riding your bike, or running.

Just yesterday while I was on the treadmill, I wiped the sweat from my brow and when I lowered my hand back down I accidentally hit the cord going from my iPod to my headphones. In doing that, it caused the iPod to come flying out of the cupholder I had it sitting in, and crash on the treadmill, only to then be flung against the wall behind me. Nothing about that, didn’t suck.

It must be fate. I find out that Apple has the Ipod Shuffle literally the day after I spend an hour making a workout playlist for my iPod, and two days before I drop my Pod while working out.

I baby that player, and have never dropped it before. Fate I tell you. Fate. You know, had I gotten a bonus from work this year, I would have ordered the thing already.

Pop’s is off the machines totally. That’s great since he can’t stand the tube in his throat. I talked to him today. He’s in a lot of pain, which is to be expected. He’s on morphine, so while it’s working, he’s a bit of a zombie. Anyway, one day at a time from here.

BTW, I happen to have some morphine for sale, if anyone is interested.

For the conspiracy theorist out there, that last statement was a joke.
