Pics of my poker table
Here are some shots of my poker table. I think I’m going to steel wool it then add one more coat of polyurethane. I’m itching to play on it though, too bad I don’t have the tiem to play until next week. Oh well. Here are some pics:

I don’t have legs on it yet. The legs will probably be just folding legs for now. This is a table that will eventually go into my house when I have a house with the room, lol. I could put it in my garage, and I still might. But for now, it will live at my Dads shop. Eventually it will have an oak base, that matches the racetrack.

I heard a very touching story today. I’ll try to recreate it as close to the original as possible. Maybe you can pass it on to someone else, and brighten up their day.
An old indian woman found a very poisonious snake, frozen in the ice and snow. She took the snake home, and nursed it back to health. When the snake was strong enough, it lunged at her and bit her on the neck. The lady fell, and while she was lying there dying, she turned to the snake and asked “I nursed you back to health, I saved your life, why would you bite me?” to which the snake replied. “Look bitch, you knew I was a snake”
2 commentsLong weekend
So, how was everyones weekend? Mine was pretty good. It started on Thursday night with a poker game. It was fun, which means I won. If I didn’t win, it wouldn’t have been fun. Okay, that’s not entirely true.
Yes it is.
Seriously though, no it’s not.
Yeah, it is.
In all serious-ness(good word), I always have fun playing cards. Well, this weekend, I built a new poker table. I don’t think I expected it to come out as good as it did, but I literally couldn’t be happier with it. I’ll get some pice up soon, I’m still putting the finishing coats of polyurethane on it. That doesn’t look like it’s spelled right, and I’m too damn tired and lazy to look it up….so we’ll just leave it that way.
Anyway, the table took me 16 hours to do. 16 friggin hours. I’m either a big and dedicated fan to the game of poker, or I got a fucking gambling problem and need a 800 number. Whatever the case may be, it took me forever to make this damn thing. I have to give props out to Fish and Joey for helping me out. Joey especially. He was with me until 2:00am when we finally finished it, and he also helped out financially. Yeah, turns out fabric and shit is expensive. On a side note, walking into a place like Jo-Ann fabric doesn’t make you feel as gay as you would think. It doesn’t make you feel more manly by any stretch of the imagination, but it isn’t bad. However, Joey telling the clerk that we were buying black vinyl to make ass-less chaps, for us to wear during our “partner” ceremony didn’t help.
It was a long day of sawing, stapling, home-depot-ing, sawing and more home depot-ing, but it was all worth it. Again, I will post pics once I finish poly-ing the oak racetrack around the table. (the racetrack is to stack your chips on)
After that marathon of manual labor and future back problems, it was just a regular weekend until today. Today being white-mans Easter we started the day out at Bonnies house for her now famous “Holiday Morning Breakfast ar Bonnies!” Great food, as always, and good times with good people. Most people look forward to holidays because they get the day off of work, we look forward to them because breakfast at Bonnies rules. For those of you unfortunate enough to never have the opertunity to experience this, sucks to be you. After Bonnies it was a power-nap for me (I played cards a little late last night) then off to Kels cousins house for Easter with her family. That was a good time, as always, but the short sleep was starting to catch up with me. We left there, and I dropped Kel off at home, changed my clothes and went back to the shop to sand and poly the table. (it takes a while to dry)
Quick stop at my Dads to return his compressor staple gun(life saver) and back home in time to watch State beat UK in double overtime! Who says the big ten can’t ball?
Movie night tonight was Harold and Kumar go to White Castle. I won’t ruin it for you, in case you didn’t see it.
That was pretty much my weekend in a nutshell. Now, it’s almost midnight, and I’m tired. Good night all.

Happy white-person Easter to all you white folks out there! Greek Easter (Orthodox) is May 1st this year.
Again, happy Easter white people!
1 commentToday is this weeks Friday
Been a wierd week. My computer at work ate itself, so yesterday I had to run home and get my laptop. I’ve been using my D800 here now, for the second day, and I’m starting to like it a lot better than my desktop. The widescreen is great for having two windows open at once. I’m considering donating my desktop to someone who has a really slow one, and just using my laptop forever, since this is what it was originally intended for. But maybe not. I even have a docking station for it, I just have to bring it in. We’ll see what the tech says about my desktop when he gets here.
Just and FYI, the desktop is an Optiplex SX260. Small form factor. In case anyone was wondering why I’m not working on it myself, it’s still under warranty and Dell is sending out a tech to fix it.
1 commentAhhh crap.
The Playstation portable comes out this week. Dammit. I have to own it. I can get Tony Hawks Underground 2, and have it with me everywhere I go. With graphics better than the playstation 1. It’s the apex of my being. I must buy this hardware….

Updated my sketchbook page a little, including changing the name to Artwork instead of sketchbook since I have some finished pieces there too.
2 commentsNew DVD Page
Okay, so the ANT movie software thingy is pretty cool. I have a new DVD page up, and will be playing with it to tweak it to my liking. What’s really cool is the movie box cover is now listed with the film. Also a short description of the movie, and I will have my own review there also. You can see that I already played with it a little, and wrote a quick summary of the Chapelle Show DVD. The rating of the films is from IMDB. As I added the movies into my database, I was downloading all the information from IMDB using a built in script. Super cool. The only downside is I also got the ratings form IMDB, and I might not always agree with them. I’m trying to figure out how to export only certain items out of the database, but it’s not that intuitive. Either way, it’s fun times!
No commentsWell, my weekend is shot
I just found this software: http://www.antp.be/software/moviecatalog I know what I’ll be doing this weekend. I can download all the movie information from IMDB for my collection, then I can export it to csv and use Listpro to import it to my PPC. I can also export the movie database to html, making a really pretty webpage for my site. The best part, it includes the movie covers! How cool is that? Hopefully it won’t take up too much space though, I don’t want to chew up all of Peters server. ![]()
