I leave work yesterday and I get a phone call on my cell. “Scott?” the unfamiliar voice says to me. Yes, I reply. “Hi, this is Boom Boom (something like that) from Wide Open West. I have a technician at your house right now”. Awesome. I tell her that I informed good ol reggie the day before that I woulnd’t be home until 4:30, but I would make sure someone would be there if they could call me before they came out, or if they could just give me a window of time. None of the above happened. Fine. So I tell her that I’m on my way home, and only about 10 minutes away. She tells me that the tech would be there when I get home.

And he was. We walk in the house, and to my surprise, the cable box doesn’t work. I would have bet the farm that the fucker would have worked great when the tech got there. I guess that’s one thing that WoW has over Comcast, when their shit breaks, it stays broken. With Comcast, their shit miraculously fixes itself when the tech arrives. Anyway, it’s still broken and the tech swaps it out with a new box. He says that the new box will match the TV better (silver) and that my old box was “one of our old ones”. Sweet, I got junk hardware to begin with. Awesome.

The plus side is that it’s done, it was pretty painless, and he showed me how to search by show title on the DVR. Also, we had a few other issues that I was pretty sure was box related, that seem to be fixed now.
