WOLVERINES!!
So last night I watched the best, and probably cheesiest cold war movie ever made.
Red Dawn.
Some movies, you remember as a kid to be great, but they fall short when you watch them now and at the same time, shattering the fond memory you kept with you for so long. Well, I’m happy to say that this movie, is one that stands the test of time. I really enjoyed watching this classic again. I mean, you’ll have to get around the fact that Russia, invades the US without anyone knowing. And the fact that they try to make C. Thomas Howell out to be a badass, but once you get by that….pure entertainment. Patrick Swayze doesn’t even look like that big of a douche bag in this movie!
When a movie can do that….it’s pure gold.

EDIT
Holy shit! It’s fast as hell again! Woohoo!!
Not that you all would know this, but posting has been painfully slow for a while now. Peter found a fix, and I just tried it, now it works great!
Thanks Peter!

I’m going to Chicago tomorrow morning. Every year I go with my Dad to a trade show there. Actually, it’s in Rosemont, which is north of Chicago. It’s kind of a crappy drive, just because I94 across Michigan doesn’t have much scenery. This is why I have a DVD player in my car.
I just haven’t decided what movies to watch yet.
The show is a party supply show, but it’s also teh biggest Halloween show on the country. All the new haunted house attractions are demonstrated there, so I will have my camera with me. If I get shots of anything good, I’ll post em’.

Joaquin Phoenix didn’t win again. His first nomination was for his role in Gladiator. I still think he got jammed on that one. He was great in that flick. I haven’t seen Walk the Line yet, but I’m sure he does another fine job in it. Phillup Seymour Hoffman won for Capote, which I hadn’t even heard of before the Oscar buzz. However, I can’t in good conscience give an Oscar to the guy that played Dusty in the movie Twister. I mean, come on.
It’s not just acting though. Ang Lee won for best director for Brokeback Mountain. Okay, apperantly no one in the academy saw the movie The Hulk. If they did, I don’t care how great of a job he did in the gay cowboy movie, they couldn’t give him an award. He fucked the Hulk up so bad, that he should have been black-balled. Who’s next? We going to give Uwe Boll an award for his next project? (don’t get the reference? Look him up on IMDB, then watch anyone of his movies. He’s the worst director in the history of man)
George Clooney said something great when he won for supporting actor. He said “I guess I didn’t win for directing”. And he was right. Funny shit.
I thought John Stewart did a great job as host. One of the funniest things he said all night was just after the Oscar for best song was given to the 36 Mafia for their song “It’s hard out here for a pimp”. John Stewart came out and said : “Martin Scorcese, 0 Oscars. 36 Mafia, 1 Oscar” It was hilarious.
Oh, and Bjork not being able to make it because when she was trying on her dress for the show, she was shot by Dick Cheney. I about fell out when he said that.
All in all, it was a pretty boring awards show, but it usually is. It’s just not that fun when everyone is on their best behavior.
Oh yeah, and Debbie, sorry, but Jada Pinkett looked like a drag queen. She’s way to buff. She’s built like Rip Hamilton. All night I was waiting for her to post up Will Smith, and turn with a fade away jumper.

Strangest thing
The company I work for has about a dozen or so, in-house employees. Now what are the chances that 4 of them all get jury duty the same year? Pretty fucking slim you say? Go figure.
