So, last night I was up until 2:15am watching the Red Wings lose in double OT. It was one of the worst games I’ve ever watched. Not the hockey, which wasn’t exactly exciting, but because of the refs. The refs were calling such a ticky-tack game that it was literally 2 minutes of hockey, then 12 minutes of the refs talking about the 6 penalties they just called. The game was 4 hours long. 4 fucking hours. A 4 hour game should have 6 overtimes in it. This game took FOREVER. In the first overtime, there was a puck that went in under the side of the net. The goalie for Edmenton backed into the net, lifting the end slightly, and the puck slid in under the side. No big deal, they reviewed it and made the right call that it was a no-goal. Then, for no reason what-so-ever, they took 15 minutes to change out the net! WTF?

Those officials were crap. That game was crap. It was painful to watch, and pretty much solidified the fact that I will not endure another abortion like that again. It’s safe to say that this was the last friggin hockey game I’ll be watching this season, or possibly ever. I used to be a hockey fan. When something like the lockout happens, it gets really hard to follow your team anymore. You care less and less about them. I’m there right now. After seeing how bad that game was yesterday, I think I might be done for good.

The game was faster paced, before they added the new rules that were supposed to pick up the pace! The NHL is dead to me now.
