Why can’t a TV show end on time?

Category: Fun

Seriously, what the hell is going on? Why can’t a damn TV show start and end at it’s scheduled time? Last night Kel and I watched the last episode of The Nine (which we’ll talk about later), while the DVR picked up Heroes. We then watched Heroes afterwards, so we could fast forward through the commercials.

Commercials are so…1990’s.

Anyway, coming to the end of the show, when the skinny crack-head looking chick calls Claires dad and tells him that Suresh left to go back to India (never would have guessed she worked for him, cool!). She asks Claires dad “what about the precog”? He replies “bring him in”.

Now I knew they were talking about Isaac (or i-sock as hiro calls him) but I wasn’t sure how she was going to bring him in. So, at the end of the show you see the skinny crack-head knocking on Isaacs door, and as he walks towards it to answer it, the damn DVR stopped recording! The show ran just past 10:00 and my DVR cut off the ending. Why the fuck can’t NBC start and stop their shows on time? What a crock of shit. So, not only did I not see what she said to him, but I didn’t see scenes from next week. Total bullshit. I added 10 minutes to the end of each show to make sure this shit doesn’t happen again, which is extremely convienent since HD shows don’t take up that much room on the DVR (sarcasm).

channel 7 does the same shit, the reason the idiots do that is,look at the tivo guide,in the evenings they schedule shows to end at 9:02 and 10:04,and it screws up the next show if you have to change the channel.I called channel 7 to find out why and she replied”We do that so the viewer will have to stay and watch the next show,if you miss the first couple of minutes of a show on another channel”Morons, channel 7 started that with alias and lost, nowi guess other channels are following suite.
