PS3 shortage
Sony shorted the initial release of the PS3. Sony does this for all of it’s releases. It creates a high demand and buzz right before the holidays. I’m sure there is a warehouse somewhere full of PS3’s that Sony doesn’t want to release untill they beleive it’s time to create another frenzy. Marketing brilliance? Maybe, but at what cost?
Read here to find out:
What would you do for a PS3?
Xbox 360
So, I decided not to pick up a Playstation 3. First of all, it’s $600. What that means is that when it’s all said and done, you’ll walk out spending a grand that day with all the shit you’ll need to buy with it.
Plus the fact that people have been waiting in line for a week already (fucking nerds) so they probably aren’t going to be that easy to get ahold of.
Yesterday I picked up an Xbox 360. I decided to go with the Xbox over the PS3 for a couple of reasons. Pricing and availability, the fact that I won’t use the PS3’s 1080p capability anyway, and the amount of content immediately avaiable for the 360.
I bought the premium package which comes with a 20g hard drive, wireless controller and a headset. Seriously though, who buys the core system? When you look at what you get with the premium, buying the core is dumb. Anyway, when you buy a 360 at Circuit City, you get a free charge and play kit. Which is basically a rechargeable battery pack for the controller so you don’t have to keep buying new batteries. I also picked up a WiFi adapter for Xbox Live, and of course, Tony Hawk Project 8.
I’ve only messed around with it just last night, but man, this thing is awesome. The wireless controllers are great, the graphics are great, the fact that it runs in 1080i HD is great, everything about it is great. You can turn the console on and off right from the controller…wirelessly….I mean, that’s like the ultimate in laziness right there. The one and only problem with this thing is that now, I want more games. I want Need For Speed Carbon, Madden, SmackDown vs Raw, Gears of War, and Mortal Kombat, lol. At $60 per game, that’s an issue. ![]()
Heroes, the best show on TV, that I’m never watching again
The show ran over this week again. The DVR WOW supplied decided it didn’t want to record the extra 10 minutes after the show like I programmed it to.
Worst TV network on the planet, along with the worst cable company known to man. It’s my personal mission to go to every forum on the entire fucking internet and bad mouth both of these piece of shit companies. I hope they both go out of business, and all of thier employees get new jobs, then all get fired for being late.
Oh yeah, I have no idea how the fuck that show ended….again.
2 commentsIt was all a lie….
So Neil Patrick Harris is gay. I guess he didn’t “nail every chick on that show” like he said he did when referring to Doogie Howser M.D. from the movie Harold and Kumar go to White Castle.
I am curious to see whats going to happen with his role on How I Met Your Mother. From what I understand, he’s kind of a “player” on that show. So…now that everyone knows he gay, will they still buy him playing this role? Who knows. All I know is he was hysterical in Harold and Kumar.
“Thank God officer. You know Neil Patrick Harris from that show Doogie Howser?”
“yeah”
“Well, he stole my car”
“No, NPH wouldn’t do that”
Classic.

Man, I’m glad this week is about over. I came in to work early today to get some work done. I would like to leave early today because I have an enormous pile of leaves in my backyard to bag up. Although there is a pretty good chance that I’m not going to leave early, because I never do.
So the Playstation 3 comes out in 2 weeks. I have a dilemma. The new Tony Hawk game is being released as one of the launch titles. I don’t need to have a PS3, but I do need to have TH8. There in lies my issue. As it stands, it will cost me roughly $700 bucks to play the new Tony Hawk game. $60ish for the game, and $600 for the PS3. Then we have the whole BluRay thing. Yeah it’s neat that the PS3 plays BluRay DVD’s, but I don’t have a 1080p TV, so I wouldn’t see the difference anyway.
I don’t know what to do. Is it worth it to buy a PS3 just for Tony Hawk (and the new Mortal Kombat)?
Probably.
7 commentsInternet Explorer users, I gotta question for you.
Zaa IM’d me today to tell me that my site looks weird in IE6. Zaa, like me, user Firefox as his browser. It looks fine in Firefox, but when I hop in to IE, it looks like this:

Is this how you IE users see my site? Where the borders and shit don’t line up?
This is what it looks like to me in Firefox:

That’s how the site is supposed to look. I have to figure out why the two browsers are displaying it differently.
BTW
If my site has always looked like this in IE, why the hell didn’t someone say anything? Hey Scott, whys your site look like fuck? That’s all it would have taken.
Back to the norm
The regular banner is back on top. You might need to refresh your browser to see the normal header opposed to the Halloween one.
