Xbox 360

November 15th, 2006 | Category: Fun

So, I decided not to pick up a Playstation 3. First of all, it’s $600. What that means is that when it’s all said and done, you’ll walk out spending a grand that day with all the shit you’ll need to buy with it.

Plus the fact that people have been waiting in line for a week already (fucking nerds) so they probably aren’t going to be that easy to get ahold of.

Yesterday I picked up an Xbox 360. I decided to go with the Xbox over the PS3 for a couple of reasons. Pricing and availability, the fact that I won’t use the PS3’s 1080p capability anyway, and the amount of content immediately avaiable for the 360.

I bought the premium package which comes with a 20g hard drive, wireless controller and a headset. Seriously though, who buys the core system? When you look at what you get with the premium, buying the core is dumb. Anyway, when you buy a 360 at Circuit City, you get a free charge and play kit. Which is basically a rechargeable battery pack for the controller so you don’t have to keep buying new batteries. I also picked up a WiFi adapter for Xbox Live, and of course, Tony Hawk Project 8.

I’ve only messed around with it just last night, but man, this thing is awesome. The wireless controllers are great, the graphics are great, the fact that it runs in 1080i HD is great, everything about it is great. You can turn the console on and off right from the controller…wirelessly….I mean, that’s like the ultimate in laziness right there. The one and only problem with this thing is that now, I want more games. I want Need For Speed Carbon, Madden, SmackDown vs Raw, Gears of War, and Mortal Kombat, lol. At $60 per game, that’s an issue. :P
