So, last Saturday my Tivo died. Nevermind the fact that I had 8 people coming over to play poker and watch the UFC PPV. After a call to Tivo, we decided that it was the cable cards that were bad. I called Comcast, and they came out the next day to replace them. After we swapped out the cable cards, the Tivo was still screwed up so I called Tivo again and had them send me a new one. Which they wanted to charge me 80 bucks for, btw. I wasn’t any of that. I bought this God damn thing a year ago for $700, and a year after I buy it they want to charge me another $80 for a replacement?? Fuck that. Anyway, I got one free of charge, but I had to wait a few days for it to be shipped in. I got it on Tuesday, and hooked it up last night. Then it took a little while to download all the content and shit, so basically I couldn’t use it fully until today.

What does that mean? It means I’ve missed every show so far this week that I normally watch. Without fail, every fucking one. I would remember about 45 minutes too late, every time. I mean, I knew that I depended on Tivo for my shows, but I have no idea what time anything is on. Ever. If I see something that interests me, I set Tivo. New show coming on that looks cool, set Tivo. Old show that they play at odd hours? Set Tivo. Seriously…didn’t see one show this week that I normally watch. Crazy.

Now all I have to do is try and remember what shows I have season passes for, even if they’re re-runs right now, so I don’t miss anything when they finally get some new episodes out. Any ideas? What shows do you people Tivo/DVR?
