Arby’s is a great place to fence stuff
So, I decided to sell my old Samsung phone on Craigslist. I love the phone, but since my work provides me with a phone, and I’m on Sprint now, I just don’t need it.
I put it up for $200, which is a good deal for anyone looking to get a smartphone without updating their contract.
I guy contacted me and said he wanted it. I went home at lunch, got everything together, and told him to meet me at the Arbys near my house. He works right around the corner from there, so it would be a good place to meet. We meet, I show him the phone, he shows me the cash, and all is well from there.
Here is where the funny thing happened. Keep in mind, I walked into Arbys with a Verizon phone box in my hand, sat down at a table, shook some dudes hand, went over some features of the phone, handed it to him, and collected $200 cash from him, then got up to go to the counter to place a carry out order. As I walked to the counter, there was a lady sitting with a couple of her kids. ( I assume they were hers, but it’s not important) As I walked by her, she whispered to me “I’m looking for a Blackberry Pearl”. I stopped and looked at her puzzled.
“What?” I said.
“I’m looking for a Blackberry Pearl” she once again whispered.
It took a second before I realized what was going on. I looked at her and said “Oh. I’m not stealing shit out the back of a Verizon and selling it here, that was my old phone that I don’t use anymore”.
She just kind of nodded as if to say “your secret is safe with me”.
lol
Seriously, how great was that?
