We saw this movie over the weekend. We went with the Candelas. Dinner, a movie, Scene it on the 360 after that. Good times….except for the movie part.

At first I wasn’t sure what I thought of the movie. It usually takes a day to sink in whether I like it or not. This one didn’t really take that long, and that’s not really a good thing. I hated it. It was really slow, and the characters were stiff, and the plot wasn’t engaging at all. By the end of the movie, not only did you not care about the people in it, I was almost rooting for the end of the world just to end the movie faster. Jaden Smith, Will and Jada Pinkett-Smiths kid, was sort of horrible. I don’t think it was his fault though. I think he played the character like he was supposed to, but the character was fucking garbage. I wanted to kick him in the face, half way through the movie.

The ending of the movie was terrible also. There was no reason, or explanation as to why things went the way they did. Without ruining anything for you, it went like this. Let’s say you’re watching a movie where a guy named Bob constantly says that red is his favorite color. Then, just before the end, for no reason at all, he says his favorite color is now blue. Bobs changed….the end. Would that be a satisfying experience?
