A lot of stuff has been happening lately. Rayl closed after what seemed to be a pretty long closing process. I don’t know exactly what is involved with closing a company, I just know I was there a lot longer then I thought I would be cleaning up the place. I did get a new job working for a company called Ideal/Setech. They are a joint venture between the Ideal Group and Setech. Both are big companies which do a lot of work with GM. I’m the implementation project manager. What does that mean? Well, if you look at my list of duties, it means a whole lot. Basically, I’m in charge of setting up their remote facilities. The first project I will be working on is in Toledo. Heck of a commute, but it’s only until the project is finished. Then off to the next project, or a permanent job in Livonia.

Other then that, not much else is going on. Let’s see…I saw the new Halloween movie. The one thing I’ve noticed from reading online is that when it comes to Rob Zombie movies, people either love him, or really hate him. There aren’t many people that are in the middle with this guy. I was sort of in the middle with him, as I don’t love him or hate him, but I do think the movies House of a Thousand Corpses and The Devils Rejects are pretty entertaining. So I was kind of excited to see what he would do with this remake of the original Halloween. Don’t be fooled by the studios though, they call it a re-imagination of the original film, but it’s a friggin remake. That is their feeble attempt to separate this film from the negative connotation that comes with the term “remake”. Anyway, saw the movie, and hated it. Totally hated it. I loved the original Halloween. That was what all horror movies should strive to be. This new one was just garbage. Michael Meyers was an escaped mental patient that wore a creepy mask (which was originally a William Shatner mask for you trivia buffs) and stalked a baby sitter for seemingly no reason. There was no motivation, he was just a fucking psycho. Then his doctor shows up to further the point that this guy is just nuts. He states that he spent 7 years trying to rehabilitate Micheal, and the rest of the time trying to keep him locked up because he realized that he was nothing but pure evil. When your shrink says your way to fucked up to be helped, you’re in bad shape. That’s scary stuff.

This new version of the story goes back to when Michael Meyers is 10 years old. We see how he was brought up, we see his home life and how screwed up it was. We see what drove him to be a crazy killer (sort of, I mean you need to be screwed up already to start wasting people with kitchen knives). But you see how bad he had it growing up. This totally humanized him…which is not at all good for the story. This made him, NOT scary. Meyers always freaked me out, which is probably because I was a fetus the first time I saw him in the 70’s. (I probably didn’t actually watch it until the 80’s, but either way, I was young) This new Meyers was just a screwed up dude, from a fucked up home. During this movie, you actually felt bad for this kid. For a horror movie to be scary, the audience should never root for the killer. In this movie, you find yourself doing just that. To further that point, there was so much development on Michael Meyers, that when it came time to introduce Laurie to the movie, there wasn’t enough time to develop her into a character that you actually gave a shit about. So again, you didn’t care about her when Michael showed up. Also, Rob Zombie decided to incorporate the family aspect that Michael and Laurie were related which didn’t actually come out till Halloween 2. Another mistake since it furthers makes him seem more normal then this emotionless lunatic that just likes to watch people bleed.

If you’re a Halloween fan, and lets face it, if you like any kind of horror movie, you ARE a Halloween fan, then stay clear of this movie. It really was a piece of crap.

You know what, FUCK MICROCENTER! That place is terrible. They do more bait and switch then Circuit city. Every time I get an email from them with some great deal on computer hardware, they NEVER have it in the store. Ever. I don’t care if you’re the first person there when they open up in the morning, they always say that the guy before you bought the last one of whatever super deal they had at the time. Today was different however. I got to Microcenter today, and not only did they not have either of the hard drives they offered up in a special deal, but the lady told me that they’ve been out of them for weeks!

Umm…what? I just got this email this morning! How are they out of them for weeks??

Oh, I know, they never fucking had them to begin with, they just use their email mailer to lure you in. If they had told me what they always tell me, that they just sold out before I got there, I wouldn’t be this pissed off about it. However, since they flat out told me that they have been out for weeks, and NEVER had these around for this price, fuck them.

I get there and was told that they don’t have that drive, or the 250gb for $29.99 after MIR, both that they advertised this morning. I was also told that I was wrong, and that they haven’t sent out a mailer since the 4th. That’s when I took out my smartphone, connected to my gmail, and showed that fucking idiot the mailer from this morning. Eventually she found the mailer, but still insisted that they don’t have the drive. Just like every other time, Microcenter has a great deal on something and doesn’t come through with it. I’ve wasted countless trips to that shithole, and will never spend another dollar in that place. I’ll pay a premium anywhere else before I’ll go back there. Tell everyone you know. This place is a bunch of crooks. Fuck them.

Ever have someone tell you, repeatedly, to watch a movie because they enjoyed it, and when you finally do…you don’t like it very much? There have been a few times over the years that stick out. Nate telling me that Minority Report was great was one of those times. Not only did that movie suck BAD, but it was like a month and half long. So the invoice I sent him for my time was pretty big. Or when Candela told me that the Substitute 4 was the best movie ever. Guess what…it wasn’t Anyway, I had another one of those experiences yesterday. Sorry Joe, it’s you. Kel and I watched Beerfest yesterday. It was…oh how can I put this delicately….crap? Yeah, that’s delicate enough. It was crap. There were a couple of funny things here and there, but overall it was just un-funny. It might be just me. I was the only one here at work that didn’t think that Super Troopers was very funny. Again, there were a few funny things in it, but overall, not so much. This is by the same people (Broken Lizard) and it stars all the same people, so maybe it’s just their humor that I don’t like. I mean, I saw Club Dread, and that movie was fucking terrible. Maybe that’s it, Broken Lizard and I just don’t think the same things are funny.

Even if that’s the case, Joe’s still getting an invoice for my time.

So I have been trying to call my sisters house for the last 20 minutes and I keep getting a busy signal… why in this day and age would I get a busy signal you ask… CAUSE SHE IS ON HER COMPUTER… I know a lot of you are like “WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT… What does one have to do with the other… ???”

Anyone here know what white trash do for the entire month before July 4th? They blow shit up. Everynight. Constant fireworks. My dog will be in a mental institution…uh…for dogs, before this holiday is over. Damn trash.

Seriously. I want to do a study. A study to find out why holding your hand up to your head, affects the way your right foot reacts. I just can’t seem to figure out the correlation. It HAS to affect it somehow. There is no other reason I can think of that would make every dick-bag on the road on a cell phone, drive 10mph under the god damn speed limit. Just like those two assholes driving side by side down 14 mile rd as I was trying to get back to work from lunch.

I’m not a cell phone hater…quite the opposite in fact. However, I can use a cell phone, and NOT drive like a prick.

It’s Thursday, and I’m going to go ahead and talk about a show that was on, on Monday. I sure do hope these lightning fast updates keep up!

Anyway, you guys watch Heroes? Man, that’s a great show. I kind of wish I could not watch it all season, just so I could watch all the episodes at the same time. Can’t wait till the next one. Great show.

Speaking of TV, the new HD TiVo is soooooo cool. When it’s recording something, there is an LCD screen on the front of the unit that displays the name of what you’re recording. So when it’s recording something on tuner #2, and you’re watching tuner #1, you can just look on the front of the unit to see what’s going on. That’s so fresh. The only problem is it looks like one of my cable cards is bad. I have WOW coming out next Tuesday to swap out the card.

[warning, rant about to begin] You know, that’s the one bummer about WOW. They don’t have these locations around like Comcast does, where you can swap out your equipment yourself. You have to set up an appointment and get a tech to come out. That’s fucking dumb. They had an appointment on Friday, but someone needed to be home all day. So I would have had to take a day off just to get my cable fixed, exactly one week after I took a half day off to meet them to get my cable cards in the first place. I would love to just run to the corner, drop off the bad card, and pick up the good one. None of their techs know how to install these things in a TiVo anyway, so I have to do it. It’s fucking dumb that I can’t just go pick up what I need.[/end rant]

Anyone been watching American Idol this season? Last season was the first season that Kel and I watched the whole thing. We always stopped after the idiots were done trying out. As I’ve posted in the past, I think we did it correctly, right from the get-go. Once they get to Hollywood the show pretty much blows. However, before they go to Hollywood, and they get all the rejects trying out, it’s usually pretty damn entertaining.

After last nights episode, we might be done watching it alltogether. What a peice of crap that episode was. They showed like 5 people trying out, then 1.5 hours of those people bitching, complaining and crying while trying to convice the judges that they deserve to make it, or at least get another try. I couldn’t watch half the shit. Thank God we watched it on TiVo or I wouldn’t have made it. We fast forwarded through 80% of the show.

For you wanna be American Idol types, let me explain to you how it goes.
You sing
If you’re good enough, you make it through to the next round.
However, if you suck, and most of you do in fact suck, they tell you no, and you leave the room and go cry in a bathroom somewhere by yourself. Don’t completely loose your mind on national television. You already made an idiot out of yourself singing like shit on TV, try to save some damn dignity and at least take your rejection like a soldier, and not some grovelling fucking moron. Seriously though, how many times has a sniveling idiot begged the judges to let them through, and it’s worked?

That’s right, zero. One more show like last night, and I’m writing off that peice of shit. It was entertaining when we saw a lot of jackasses singing and dancing around like fools, but the show has found a way to fuck that up.

So, last week was the premier of the show Dancing with the Stars. I watched the whole episode. Two things I realised from this. One, that show sucks. Bad. Two, Mario Lopez is a god damn liar.

He comes right out and says that he’s never had any dance training at all, and that this is all new to him. Um…hello liar, did you forget that you were on a show called Saved by the Bell? We all saw you dance on that show a hundred times. Why would he even try to bullshit everyone? He’s on film dancing for Christ sake.

Then you have Joey Lawrence trying to pull the same shit. He says he hasn’t danced since he was 7. Umm, you had like 2 music videos dumbass. WTF is wrong with these idiots?

Not that I care, because the show does actually suck quit a bit, but I hope Emmit Smith wins. At least he hasn’t flat out lied to everyone.

Normally, I’m an absolute sucker for a reality/competition type show. It’s not that I plan my schedule around them, but if I happen to catch part of one on TV, I get sucked in real easy.

Kel and I watch a few shows religiously. Crimial Minds is one. I can’t wait for that premier! Did Elle get shot in the face? We’ll find out next month! As most of you know, we have a Survivor pool going for every season, so that’s another one we watch. Anyway, the only other show we were stuck on this last season was, So You Think You Can Dance. We watched an entire season of that show for the first time. We had a good time watching that (contemporary isn’t really dancing, it’s fake, just run around the stage waiving your arms like your having a seizure and you got it).

We also watched an entire season of American Idol for the first time. With the popularity of that show, I have to deduce that we just happen to watch a crappy season because overall, that show sucked. I always said that it wasn’t very good after the idiots are done trying out, but I never actaully watched any of the episodes. I think for the next season, we’ll just watch the retards during the first few weeks again. Once they get the talent together, total garbage.

Right now we are between shows. So last night we decided to watch “Duets” which is a show where B-list celebrities get paired up with singers for a kareoke type show. If you didn’t watch it last night….well….good for you. Man, that show sucked. What a piece of crap that was. The only good thing about it was…wait, nothing. Wayne Brady was funny at times, when he wasn’t kissing the celebs asses. It’s a good thing poker is on Sunday’s, Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays now. Gives me something to watch.
